Install specifications
01 Martin Audio A80 Full Range Speakers
02 Crown XTI Amplification
03 Audio Technica Wireless Headset Radio Mics
04 Showtec Colour Wash LED Stage Lights
05 Blue Tooth Music Playback
Ridgeway Farm Primary school is located in Purton near Swindon and we were asked if we could specify a suitable sound and lighting system for the hall as the existing sound system was poorly installed and didn’t really work. They didn’t have any stage lighting and so were unable to put on creative music and drama performances that they so desperately wanted to do. The hall has a high ceiling and so we opted to mount a pair of high quality Martin Audio A80, compact, full range speakers either side of the stage approx 2m above the floor level to keep the sound projection close to the listeners as possible and minimise unwanted reflection of the sound. We installed a wall mounted equipment rack and within this fitted the 4 x Audio Technica headworn radio mics, cloud mixer, blue tooth receiver and Crown Amplifier to power the speakers. We also included a storage drawer to keep the mics and batteries in.
Dynamic Lighting Upgrade
For the lighting we chose to mount vertical light bars either side of the hall approx 5m in front of the stage area and on to these we fitted 1m boom arms so lights could be easily positioned and adjusted to optimise the colour washing of the stage. We installed 6 x Showtec colour wash LED lights along with an easy to use Showtec lighting desk with the DMX connection point next to the equipment rack so control of the sound and lighting could be done by one person.
Upon completion we provided training for the staff and they are delighted with the system and it is going to transform the types of shows and presentations they can now put on.
Ridgeway Farm Primary School now boasts a new Sound & Lighting system that will enable them to deliver fantastic plays, performances and presentations for many years to come.
